Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) is a university student movement dedicated to evangelization. They challenge young adults to live in the fullness of the Catholic faith with a strong emphasis on becoming leaders in the renewal of the world.
In Calgary, a dedicated trio of missionaries has been making a significant impact through their work with Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO). Having relocated from Ottawa, they have been active members of Holy Spirit Parish since 2023, focusing their efforts on Mount Royal University and the University of Calgary. Driven by a passion for serving Jesus, they are committed to bringing students to faith and mentoring them in their spiritual journeys. Since their arrival, they have seen remarkable results, with 137 students accepting Christ and around 800 participating in weekly Bible studies.

In response to the pressing need for formation in ministry highlighted in the Diocesan Phase Synod Synthesis (no. 21), the Diocese has prioritized developing a stronger and more diverse approach to support the formation of those responsible for forming others. Through our partnership with the Catechetical Institute, the Diocese is able to provide all ministry leaders with full and free access to the Institute’s extensive online formation workshops that cover a broad range of topics relevant to evangelization and catechesis in the Church today.

The newly launched channel, ‘SW Prayer,’ A Catholic companion to eternity, is also available 24/7. This channel is designed exclusively for live Holy Mass, prayer, devotions, and Catholic teachings. Viewers become spiritually enriched and engaged, as they unite their prayers with others joining from across the globe. This prayerful momentum invites God’s blessings into our world in these times. Through this channel, you can request for prayers yourself and others. The names will be displayed on screen, and they will be prayed over in the next Holy Mass.
