“When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, and they went down there and prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit, for as yet he had not come down on any of them: they had only been baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.” Acts 8:14-17
Confirmation, a sacrament of initiation, was given its name because the faith received in Baptism is now confirmed and made strong. Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, we receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the Faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ.
Children in grade 6 and up, who have been baptized and who have already received the Sacraments of 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion, are welcome to enroll in the program.
Confirmation registration opens every November, with classes starting in early spring.
