“Each person should give what they have decided in their heart to give,
not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7
As Catholics baptized into the faith, we are entrusted with God’s gifts and called to be responsible stewards. Stewardship is the response we make in gratitude to God for what God has given us. It is intentional, planned, proportionate and sacrificial. Being responsible stewards means using these gifts from God to strengthen our families, parish, community, and the wider world. In our stewardship, we are urged to thoughtfully and prayerfully consider how we allocate our limited resources of time, money, and energy amidst various obligations. When we contribute to our parish and the broader Church, we demonstrate to our children and the world our values and priorities.
One’s generosity is not dependent on material wealth: gifts are given willingly from the heart, in accordance with individual financial capabilities, priorities, and comfort. Every contribution makes a difference and is appreciated.
Sunday Offerings are vital to the financial health of our parish. They fund a wide range of activities, including salaries, regular maintenance, sacristy supplies, and vital services like heating and electricity. Regular online giving enables our parish to strategically plan for how we can best serve our parish community. By contributing consistently, you provide crucial support that strengthens our parish and its mission.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Holy Spirit Parish undertakes Major Projects to maintain and improve the structural integrity of our church building, rectory, and surrounding properties. By investing in upgrades and new constructions, we ensure our facilities remain safe, comfortable, and inviting for worship, fellowship, and various programs. Our 2024 budget allocates $300,000 for Major Projects and $833,000 for Operations, totalling $1,133,000. Your donations are invaluable in helping us maintain our facilities.
Together we can make a difference.
Throughout the year, we conduct special collections to support various programs and needs. A significant initiative is our sponsorship of a refugee family from Iran, who relocated to Calgary in May 2024. We are committed to covering their living expenses for one year as they pursue education and begin their new life in Canada. Additional collections support programs like our Christmas Hamper initiative, the Holy Land (Good Friday collection), Mission Mexico, and more. Key feast days, such as the Solemnity of Mary (January 1st), Easter Sunday, and Christmas Day, mark important events in the Catholic calendar. These donations reflect a spirit of giving and gratitude, helping to fund the church’s operations while emphasizing love, compassion, and service to others.
In serving those in need, we serve the Lord.
TIA is the Diocese of Calgary annual campaign to support key ministries, partner organizations and agencies. Embracing God’s plan allows us to enrich lives and support those in need. In 2024, all parishes in the Diocese work together to raise $2 million. Holy Spirit’s share of this goal is $67,660. This year’s theme is inspired by Philippians 4:19: “God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Jesus Christ.”
Every donation helps us reach our target.
