Our parish is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all – especially children, youth, and vulnerable persons. As part of this commitment, the Diocese requires screening and training for those who serve in ministry and groups involving children. Volunteer screening and training are not simply formalities; they are part of our shared responsibility to create and maintain a safe environment.
Screening helps ensure that those serving in ministry are suitable for their roles and understand the responsibility entrusted to them. It is a proactive step that promotes accountability, transparency, and the safety of our parish community.
Training equips volunteers to recognize warning signs of concerning behaviour and to respond and report appropriately. It provides a clear framework for acting in a timely and responsible manner – protecting our parishioners, our volunteers, and our parish community.
