We are a ministry dedicated to knitting and donating winter accessory items to Holy Spirit Parish ministries, items that include adult hats, children’s hats and mittens, scarves, and occasionally other knitted items like lap throws given to us by parishioners. These items primarily support Holy Spirit Parish’s Christmas Hamper program and are also donated to other church-sponsored agencies such as Simon House, St. Ann’s Pantry, and Palliative Care for Seniors. Our ministry consists of three members, two of whom live outside Calgary, each of us knitting independently from our homes. Each December, the items we knit throughout the year are collected, counted, categorized, and delivered to the church for distribution.
We rely on donated wool to keep this ministry going so we gratefully accept wool donations throughout the year. Donated wool can be dropped off at the Parish Office during office hours all year long – your generosity is greatly appreciated!
