This seasonal ministry provides well-stocked hampers to families in need on the Saturday before Christmas. Each hamper typically includes fresh food for a Christmas dinner, staple foods, a gift for each child up to the age of 18 (organized by the CWL), a gift card to a major grocery store, and donated winter knitted accessories from our Christmas Hamper Knitters.
A Grade 6 class from St. Cyril School assembles the boxes in preparation for packing. Parishioners who sign up to volunteer organize the food and gifts on tables before packing them into the hampers. Additional volunteers deliver the hampers to recipients the following day.
If you wish to volunteer for this ministry, sign-up sheets are available in the Gathering Area after all weekend Masses each December. Your involvement will not only bring smiles to many faces but also foster a spirit of community and generosity, embodying the true spirit of Christmas.
