This ministry endeavors to prepare and instruct engaged couples in the beauty and teaching of Catholic Marriage as a sacrament in the Church.
Sponsor couples understand this ministry to be a marriage enrichment opportunity, as well as a service to church and engaged couples. Ideally, sponsor couples host individual engaged couples in the sponsor’s home for several evening sessions, mentor them through the material, share their experience of marriage and develop a genuine relationship with the engaged couple. The sponsor couples represent the parish community and encourage the couples to become active members of the parish.
Further goals of our ministry are to promote authentic witness to sacramental marriage, to encourage, inspire and accompany young couples in parish life and to bring focus, attention and enrichment to married life in the parish.
In years past, our ministry has hosted couples’ retreats, workshops, and other marriage enrichment events and activities. We hope to resume marriage enrichment and opportunities to follow-up our prepared and newly married couples in the future.
