The Diocese of Calgary is dedicated to creating a safe environment where the prevention of any form of abuse is paramount. To uphold this commitment, specific protocols and training for abuse prevention have been established, which every parish is required to follow.

To become a volunteer, please complete the following important steps:

1. 1. Initial Contact: Begin by reaching out to the Ministry Leader. Once the Leader confirms that a spot is available on the Ministry team, please proceed with the next two steps.
   2. Form Submission: To ensure we have all necessary information, we require all prospective volunteers fill out some forms.
   3. Training: All volunteers are required to complete training, which is available online or in-house. Some of the training is designed to inform you about the responsibilities and best practices associated with volunteering, particularly when interacting with minors or vulnerable adults. Even if your role does not involve direct interaction with these groups, the training ensures that everyone in our Parish community is respected, protected and safe. Additionally, the training ensures that duties are performed properly and with the reverence expected according to Catholic teachings and standards.
